It is not the whole formula. A peptide dissolved in water alone does not sit well on skin, does not absorb evenly, and does not stay where it is needed. The serum also contains a lipid and humectant system: squalene, macadamia seed oil and sodium hyaluronate. None of these headline on the label. Why ageing skin needs help holding onto what it applies

Marketing claims about hyaluronic acid holding many hundreds of times its weight in water are common and worth treating with some scepticism. The figure varies with molecular weight and testing conditions, and no single multiplier applies universally. What is well established is that it is one of the most effective humectants used in skincare, and that is the basis for its inclusion here, not a specific ratio.
Why the delivery system is the point, not an afterthought
An antioxidant peptide that never penetrates past a compromised, under-lubricated surface is not doing much. The lipid and humectant system in this serum is what allows the DNA-repair peptide, the jellyfish-derived actives and the antioxidant complex to actually reach and remain in the skin, rather than sitting on top of it until they are cleansed away the next morning.
